Subject: Question about nursing pigs

Montpelier Indiana
My sister sent this to me in an e-mail. It's been a very long time since I have been around pigs nursing so I am asking here. I seem to remember that they would go to the first teat they could get to or run from one end of the sow to the other to get a teat. Below is her question, what do you say? Thanks!

Boring weekend here - while flipping through the channels we ran across a program on pigs. Some animal behavior people did an experiment on piglets nursing. Once they all got settled, they marked their backs with numbers 1-10. Then they took the piglets away from the mother, shuffled them all around and let them loose again. Strangely, those piglets went right back to their original teat - lined up 1-10 again and continued nursing. Weird. Did you or any pig farmer friends you may have know that?
