Or work with the breeder directly, preferably someone you know and trust. Tell him what you are looking for and ask him to pick out a bull of his for you. A mistaken cow purchase is one bad calf. A bull is half of ALL of your calves and a mistake affects all of your calves and can persist for several generations. Choose carefully. I think it pays to establish a relationship with a more or less local breeder raising bulls that will do well in your location and system. Then be his best repeat customer.
