Manitoba
Darn straight, good quality colostrum(hopefully from the calf's own mother)is amazing stuff.Gives them energy, warms them up,and gets them going. Some hiefers or even cows don't have enough at the start though,I've really easy milking cows that leak the colostrum out right before calving and the calf needs to be supplemented.Always save a few doses from quiet cows that have too much and freeze in a Ziploc bag laying on a cookie sheet, thaws so much faster that way.The powdered colostrum smells awful when you mix it up and most calves refuse it.
