roaming | Thrift stores (Salvation Army, Goodwill, etc) sell all kinds of pants for usually less than $5/pair. They might already have a stain on them, or they might be exactly what you'd typically find at the store, and you can't always guarantee they'll have your size when you stop in. But if you make yourself a regular at those types of stores, you can set yourself up for a couple of years for the same money you'd spend for a single pair of Carhartts. And when a pair rips or gets a hydraulic oil bath, you don't feel bad about turning them into rags or pitching them, because you only paid a couple bucks for them. You can even find some barely-worn khakis for the times when you need a little nicer look. | |
