Subject: berkshire boar semen and storage

I have just bought a pair of bred Berkshire gilts and got them farrowed out. So I have been thinking about how I will get them bred back after weaning. A. I. seems like the logical choice with only having two sows to breed at this time. The smallest semen storage unit I can find is 80 units and costs $350 for cool only, $450 for heat and cool. Do I have to have a storage unit ? Anyone have any homemade storage units that work good. Any ideas where to find a good used unit. Also looking for recommendations on good Berkshire boars to use. Don't need show pigs just pigs that are rugged, grow fast, and good mothers outside of a farrowing crate.

Thanks Jeff
