OK, I think I get it. Clay is a brand name, not the material the waterer is constructed out of LOL! So I'm gonna go out on a limb here and assume this IS a thread about which automatic waterer to buy. ;-)

I have a Jug waterer on hand I have not installed yet so can't comment on it. Cobett is not available here locally but if it was that is one I would consider. Your likely most economical and durable option would be to build your own covered waterer out of a tire. If limited water supply is not an issue, consider using an overflow design to keep the tank ice free.
