| Had the same thing happen Sunday afternoon. 1st calf heifer, had to bring it up and pull the calf. We put the cow in the squeeze chute. The cow didn't want the calf. We left it in a small pen with it , but it didn't work so I took the calf home. The cow was up by the barn in the morning, so I put the cow and calf back in the pen. I also put OnoMo on the calf. It still didn't work, and I left them in the pen the rest of the day.
My brother and I really believe in calf claim powder. Had a 1st calf heifer calve tonight. There were other little calves around it, and the cow was mixed up which one it was. I put the powder on the calf, and the cow started licking it off.
Most of the time the calf claim powder will work if the pair are penned up. | |
