Subject: now in Ontario

sw ontario
--there are a few pricing finishing buildings and we need a 2,000 head one also but got hydro bill to-day and last 30 days electric costs where $1,600+ which works out too about $3 per pig sold for power (grind feed, auger, ventilation, lights, ect. just in barn)...we have our own supply of sows for weaners but it still isn't much money to be made with $6 corn and $400 soy and hogs bringing $150 FOB farm.......as far as manure ,its good fertilizer but far from cheap - penny a gallon to have it drag hosed on and when we have too move it too other farms its at least twice that with a 6,750 gal. spreader,7830 tractor, driver and fuel and always environmental risk--been at it 35 yrs. and was good until about 2007 and then we lost about 600k which is a kick in the nxxs...last project with pigs too stock barn was about $850k which would have bought us 200+ acres at the time --wonder which has more value now?? unless you want to be committed for 20yrs. you have to be careful...any possibility of buying local barn @ 25 cents on the dollar??
