iowa | If it is mycoplasma it most surely was introduced along with pasteurella mucltocida at some point. Necropsied calves lungs i've seen almost always had pasteurella lesions when mycoplasma micropustules were present. Mycoplasma to me seems to be an opportunist. I would at the very least vaccinate the rest of the calves for p. mult. and also a three way viral vaccine . Your vet would know what antibiotics are best for mycoplasma. might not hurt for the vet to listen to his lungs, if it is an infection this steer's already beat once he may have lots of damage and will have a tough time in humid weather. You may be best of to for go the treatment and sell him if this is what ails him. | |
