Subject: Windbrake ?

South Dakota

We are thinking of putting up a wind brake for next winter and wondering what is the best way to build in.

We have a good supply of used 12' & 14' by 30" corrugated steel, what we would like to know is how high off the ground and what width of gap in between the sheets of steel? How long would you make it for 100 head of cows? Would we be better of to put it in a form of an open V or just straight?

We do not calve until April and May so a calf shelter is not a must but seen some with a shelter in the center, would that be a good idea or not?

What are your thoughts of portable or permit?

Thank you for your advice
