North Central Kansas | It is usually not this bad. It is about 15-20 degrees below normal for us. If we wait until April we will be calving on grass after we go to grass around the 1st of May.
Corn planting starts around the 15th of April and we usually start Beans after the first of May. Don't want to be calving when we need to be doing other things.
At least for me that is what has worked in the past. If I lived farther North I could see the reasoning for not starting this early. Last year I didn't lose any. | |
