Where I am from, 99 percent are guarenteed open. When they sell you need to request to be preg checked. They will go straight to the vet to be pregged. Say they all come back open, you pay the 3 dollars each to preg. If you have 2 come back bred, they will come back to the sale ring, be wieghed off and resold or taken home by the seller. In this case the seller pays the 3 dollar preg checking charge. You still pay the 3 dollars each on all the open heifers bought.
