Long as it's got something to do with water, soil, etc...   it's pretty hard to not learn something good.

Trick is whether the person is really listening and processing the information. Then thinking outside the box and considering if there is any way the new information could be utilized in their own situation. 2nd problem is of course retaining the information learned.
