Subject: RE: How much DDG. 5 lbs per head per day...depends on

New Mexico
Sulfur content of the product.

400 lb calves, say 4 lbs ddgs per day, 500 lb calves 5 lbs ddgs per day.
Pasture gain tests supplementing ddgs on grass show NO additional gain benefits above the 5 to 6 lb ddg consumption level.

Optimum seems to be in the 5 lbs per day range on say 500 lb calves turned out for summer season, ddgs supped daily.
Keep in mind You pick up an extra lb per day gain, AND are able to stock those pastures with ALOT more cattle than not using ddgs ( get an easy 30 to 50% more carrying capacity on those pastures ).

From the afore weights on up, just cap consumption in the 5 lb range.

On cows...5 to 6 lbs per day.

Use ration Balancer on everything.
