Subject: RE: What is barley worth?

Lancaster County, Pa.

$4.70 is Pennfields grain bank price today which is usually close to thier cash price.  Thats almost $.10/lb compared to their corn price of $.11/lb.

In our area barley price sorta follows corn price, but not always.  I have seen times when barley was worth the same per bushel as corn which of course makes it more expensive per pound.  I have also seen times when barley was a real bargain against corn.  Barley is usually cheap at harvest and stays that way till after corn harvest.  It seems no one wants to use bin space to store the stuff.
