Subject: corral fence posts?

South Central Kansas, Harper County
Need to start working on repairing some corrals and pens. I have some 2 7/8" pipe I bought a few years ago, so thought I might start digging the holes for them. I have mixed up cement in the past and used it to fill the post holes for the pipe uprights. I have also heard some people say they just dumped a couple of bags of quik crete in the whole(without water), and let the moisture absorb later and set the cement. Is using quik crete a viable option, used like this? Since it is winter in Kansas, thought the bags might work better than trying to mix my own?
thanks,
Jim
