Subject: RE: GreenStar GPS speed reading

Centre county Pennsylvania, USA
If you can get the NMEA VTG string from G* on a 9 pin serial connector then any of several GPS to radar speed converter cables are available for connecting GPS speed to raven controller as replacement for radar speed. I'm not sure if G* has that 9 pin serial connector, but your local Deere dealer should know.

We use GPS speed as "the standard" for speed, GPS speed never needs calibration, thanks to US taxpayers. Just adjust Raven controller speed cal until controller speed readout agrees with on-screen GPS speed readout. Raven controller seems to 'smooth' GPS speed some so GPS speed readout will 'fluctuate' more than Raven controller speed readout. I'm almost certain actual radar speed often fluctuates more than GPS speed, just can't see actual radar speed fluctuations like you can see GPS speed fluctuations on screen.
