Ken cen-pa - 12/11/2010 10:45 A little imfo on the chicken houses. We use a Steiner with a blade on to clean the top floor. Get the Steiner up with a skid loader that has a platform built to drive it on then pick it up. Have a 4'x4' hole in floor about every 75' in the middle of the building to push the manure down. To put sawdust upstairs we use a silage blower with a pipe to blow it in the building. The curtain sides are for ventilation but we still use fans some and also for letting light into the building. That's similar to here. Some guys also use the heavier garden tractors (Deere X5/700 series for example) for pushing. I've seen bale choppers that had blowers used to blow fine chopped straw as well.
