Culbertson, MT | You can, but for winter I would rather have a tank set up with a really good overflow (piped to a good spot 50' or so away from tank). This should help keep tank from freezing too badly. For summer operation, your idea of pulling from dugouts would work fine. Much research has been done, the cattle will do better drinking from the tanks instead of right from dugout. As far as reliability and cost, best check with your local supplier. Failing that, seach internet for Sunelco- solar company from western MT, very sharp. | |
