Subject: Question for those feeding holstein calves

NE Wisconsin

My issue is regarding milk replacer.  We have now gone to the new milk replacer with no (or is it less?) NT in it.  It is the same formulation that we were feeding previously, but the medication in it has changed.  We started having a little trouble with scours and at the advice of our local feed mill started buying NT by the bag and adding it back to the milk replacer.

We have also in the last couple months we started using calf pro, which uses bovatec to stimulate gut development and correct me if im wrong, is more of a probiotic than a subtherapeutic.

Are we decreasing the benefit of the calf pro in the calves digestive tract by feeding NT?  I hate feeding subtherapeutic medications to all calves, on one hand we can't afford to loose them, and on the other I know we are just building worse bugs than we have now

Thanks for any insight or experience
