route 24 has alot of small towns along the way, road little rough, no scale houses, but never know about portables. There are scales west of Hannibal, but that shouldn't bother ya. I would think best way would be come from St Loius to Springfield and then on to Peoria, but I think there is a scale north of Litchfield IL.
