I've seen the projections, I'd like to hear more about actual income, bonuses, expenses per house. How many hours per house per day to sort eggs during peak production. Got a 7 year contract with JBS. TIA

Okay, let me see what I can tell you. First off, actual income. We get paid $.45 cent/dozen, half of which goes to the payments. Whats left goes for bills and family expenses. Right now we are just off peak and we are getting an average of close to $2000, come the end of the flock we will be doing good to get $500. We get paid weekly. Our bonus is usually a pretty good check, cant remember offhand what last years was, but it is good, too bad it is usually all spent. You better be a good manager of money and be good enough to put away some money in your peak times to cover app. 3 months of no income except bonus checks. Our bonus pretty much goes to cleanout and our repairs we make during cleanout, most of the repairs are dealing with our wood slats (spec plastic slats, don't ask how I know). Our epenses are generally around $1200 to $1400 utilities for our 2 houses, use about 200 gallon of LPG a month in the incenerator, I would guess 50 gallons in the generator all year, but we haven't had any extended outages yet either. I would guess on average I will replace 2 to 3 motors a year, service tech out 2 to 3 times a year. Right now, per house, it takes app. an hour at 4am to walk, another hour between 9am and 10am to walk, then takes 2 people 2 hours per house to gather eggs, generally done sometimes between 2 and 3 in the afternoon. Eat lunch, run errands, and then start again around 4pm or so, generally takes an hour and a half per house to gather in the afternoon. Today we had near 7700 eggs per house, about 6200 eggs in the morning, remainder in the afternoon. If you have anymore questions feel free to email, in profile.
