Subject: Re: And down in the Bluegrass state........Deer population

Last year a fellow I kind of knew asked if he could hunt some deer. I said OK . We have lots of deer. I pointed out a spot where I thought he would be successful.
A couple of days later he stopped by and was quite agitated. He said "I thought you said I would get a deer. I took two days off from work and I still don't have a deer."

I asked, " Didn't you see any?"

He replyed, "I missed eleven."

I would be embarrassed to say I had eleven chances and missed them all.

Another time with someone else who wasn't having much success. was coming to try again and it was late in the season. The morning they were coming three deer were eating my bushes in the yard. I shot and killed two of them but only hit the third one in the leg. I was able to run it down. I got a piece of twine and tied it to a tree. I called the hunter on their cell phone and told them to stop by the house that I wanted to see them befor they went out. He got his deer for the year. But he complained it didn' have much of a rack.

Ithink the hunters are as big if not bigger problem than the deer.
