seeding this time of year might even be considered 'dormant seeding'. Not sure about your locale or that of the O.P., but around 'here', the seeding rates are increased by 50% during dormant seeding periods. If you don't see as thick of a stand as you'd like, given a bit more time, you've got another possibility to salvage a good seeding (if the ground is still smooth) by waiting 'til late winter/really early spring and overseed some extra as a 'frost seeding'.
