I agree with you on the Hydra-bed. We have two of them here(2 years old and one 6 years old). I really like the dependability and speed of the direct drive pump off the engine. I can load two bales in the same time it would take a battery operated bed to load one bale. When feeding 10-20 bales a day it really saves a lot of time.

The synchronized arms also help to keep the bale centered on the truck. Also you can pull the pins, take the spinners off, and put the arms all the way down flat and you have a true flat bed with nothing sticking up if you want to load pallets of seed, etc.

When unrolling hay the arms 'float' up and down if you haven't stabbed the bale dead center. Most of the time I unroll the hay in short spurts up and down (battery bed to slow for this) so the hay is in little bunches and 6 or 7 cows gather around in a circle. Spreads the hay and manure out and cows are less likely to stand and crap on the hay compared to one long row of unrolled hay.
