Manitoba | If they can make that work, I mean really make it work, then it will open the door to big guys using robots. That was the one really big limiting factor for robots (IMO) to date. With a rotary you are not limited to number of cows per unit. So the rotary should be similar to a non robotic rotary, add the robot cost and run the thing 24 hours / day and your cost / cow should be much lower than a stand alone single unit robot. "should" be lower. I am sure they will find a way to push the cost right to the limit while still selling some. If you price any dairy equip the price is nuts, Most of it is well built but the cost is going crazy for new equip. Not enough competition to keep it sane I guess. | |
