Subject: Dressed Price?? What does it mean?

East Central, Nebraska
I have raised cattle since i was 16 (cow/calf on a very small scale) so this is really sad i don't know this but what exactly does "dressed price" mean. Is it the price as it is hanging or after it is cut up. I never raised cattle for butcher before just sold calves off the cow. This year I raised 4 head up to butcher for family and friends and was just going to sell them at the live market price to them but then someone suggested that I use the dressed price, someone always has to be a pain in the a**. Thank you.
