With a fire place there is less build up than a stove, "typically" because the piping on a chimney tends to be larger, and you can't close down the flu as much, so the creosote, along with your heat goes out the chimney. have Friends with a stove, and they use it as primary heat, they lean a ladder up against the chase and drop a chain down and bang it against the sides 2 or 3 (maybe more) times a year, but they burn GOOD HARD wood, that is fully seasoned. not no 6 mo. dried wood. | |
