northwest tennessee | They will get anemic and yellow in the whites of the eyes and teats if they are white in color. You can look in their mouth and will be yellow. It kills the red blood cells and in later stages they will fight and walk in circles and die pretty fast. Alot of time the treatment will cause them to die about 30 minutes later. They get so nervous and being so anemic they will check out. You can pull their vulva open and will be yellow there also. I had some years and years ago but use aureomycin in the mineral to prevent it. It is worse in the south and with all the horse flies this year should have seen some around here but havent heard of any. Horse flies are normally the carrier. | |
