Subject: converting hip roof barn

mn
I am planning on removing the hay mound floor out of a hip roof barn so I can use it for working and calving cattle in. I understand that the hay mound floor has nothing to do with holding the roof up but it does keep the barn square and the walls from spreading out. I was wondering what others have done that has worked to keep the building but lose the floor. I have heard that you could just use some "x" cable bracing, or do you have to build or install some sort of a rafter system? If any body would have done this before and could give some tips on what works and what doesn't would be great. If anybody has pictures of what they did that would be great also.
