N.C. Oregon | Did it for our honeymoon. 1963 C-150. Great time except for the mountain wave off the Sierras. Put me sideways before I could compensate.
It stayed windy .Dropped to 500' above ground level after that. Cars were going faster than we were.
Had to land in a quartering x-wind at Hawthorne. Did the one wheel on the tarmack then quick put the other down & hold on. We survived. Most exciting landing I ever walked away from & I walked away from all of them.
