| Found out that one of the Dairies I'd tried to sell hay to a couple years back went under this summer. They had expanded big time, there were articles in MO Ruralist, local papers and other places. University Extension had field days at their facilities, Mo Dairy association had their big summer meeting there. This was being touted as the way to go, get big or go home. Then, kerthunk. No articles about that? There's a big Angus breeder here in mo, that gets written about, donates to the University, does this and that, and is generally held up as the way you ought to do things. Trouble is, most of the money comes from a bulk mailing operation in Chicago, not from mama cows. Yeah, I can't do things like they do. It's frustrating to see folks get caught up in the hoopla. Then, when the parties over, you never see anything about that. | |
