South Podunk Country, Iowa (SC)
Over night in a pan. But if crock potted put it in at breakfast with everything but the cabbage with lots of water and it will be ready for supper even if you start from frozen. (on high) If your around during the day may turn it down mid to late afternoon. Just check it to see how your doing. I'm guessing about 4pm the smells will have you wanting an early supper?

really want a treat? do this to a "corned beef" roast. Some times we use a package of 15 bean, soup beans and LOTS of water instead of the potatoes and carrots.

Just be aware there is a time at about 3 or 4 hrs where the smell isn't so nice, just ignore it and keep going. this is all crock pot things I'm talking about.
