You can ship a medium "flat rate box" which is 11" x 8.5" x 5.5" Priority mail for $10.40 and it will usually get any where in the US in two days.
And the box is free at the PO and weigh does not matter. So you can ship books or bricks for the same price as puff balls. They also have larger and smaller flat rate boxes and envelopes. You can also print out the label and pay right on your computer. So the Post Office does have some good deals. This works great for me as the wife is always sending something to the grandchild or a relative in another part of the country.

Email and on line bill paying is one of the big reasons USPS is in trouble now.

USPS and UPS are working together on some shipping now too.
