I too am a cashew fan. I always thought that they were encased in a hard shell like any other nut. My cousin, who lives in Brazil, brought me some bottled cashew juice on one of her home visits. I have not figured out what I will do with it yet, but I am sure I will find a use for it other than collecting dust. LOL!
