North Central Illinois | Eddie you pretty much nailed it. These guys that are bidding over $300 for rent and farming 20,000 acres usually don't own much of anything. Very little land which is probably in the wife's name or something and the machinery is almost always leased. When they come up short some supplier gets hung out to dry and settles for a much lesser amount than owed on an out of court settlement. What gets me is that a lot of these guys have crops that look like crap. Here they are paying huge rent and getting below average yields. Just doesn't ad up. | |
