Subject: RE: Change in yields?

Only taken out 10%. About all C/B fields. Yields down 20 from last year. Down ~10 from 5 yr ave.

Only got 1 1/2 rounds out on a COC till rained out. Planted 4/15 with 113 day corn (cen IA). It was down 30+ from last year and still 24%. Goss' wilt infected the corn. Some ears were molding on the stalk. First time of KNOWING had Goss' so don't know what to expect.

No beans yet and people who have taken some out haven't bragged yet. Gotten 3.5" in the last 5 days and more for tomorrow so someone should have boasted in coffee shop if there was anything outstanding.

Bins don't fill as fast with 20 bu less and 5 pts drier than last yr.

Area farmer has taken out much more and said was disappointed in 108 day corn. Beans with SDS went either side of 40 for them.

On radio, Commstock Report is anticipating best ylds to come late and thinks mkt will falter. Seems to be too wide spread of less yld and some all done with corn and not bragging of better ylds at the end of harvest.
