Subject: Re: I looked at some information for you jreiser

North Central Ohio, across the Corn belt !
1st. off, this is here j.

we have Never had fert. spread VRT,

No N-serve for 10 years now. although 120 Lbs of NH3 are used pre plant for corn. Yes, the S.B. yields have Increased dramatically the past 10 seasons,

Why ??? Maybe a combination of Input, management practices.

No Liquid fertilizer is used at all on any of these Farms.

we have not used seed treatments, nor Inoculation, for some 15 seasons now. No foliur nor any fungicide, insecticides has ever been used, other than some side by side, replicated Plot work.

So No magic there for this specific situation.

We have stuck with the Basics, Soil health = Plant health and efficient maximum yields, Profit.

Drainage, work hard to control and Minimize compaction

The below article, posted by B. Wilson is so very important to understand and one can spend a lifetime working to improve !!! Soil Aerobic Life = soil and Plant Health

NOT ( anaerobic ) dead soil can ??? = Predatory pest's, insects and disease's are more prone to Hurt your bottom line. creating a need for Defensive methods, applications.

Just sharing some Observation, and they may ALL be Irrelevant, so do your homework and, Stick to the basics for YOUR Farm.
