Central Minnesota | We all are once again looking for and hoping for the $6-7 number for corn. These numbers keep coming up as thoughts are exchanged about this running market. Is it because most of us never got a chance to sell corn at $6-7 a couple years ago? Maybe we had followed our yearly marketing plans then, but want to forget those now just for the chance of record high prices again. I believe this market is giving us a chance for good profits right now. Should be selling small amounts on each .10 to .15 higher. Priced a Dec 2011 today at 4.80. Roll the carry for maybe another .25 minus a .30 or lower basis with a short crop gives me $4.75 cash. I can live with that. | |
