Subject: RE: Harvest weather--Rain

central - east central Minnesota -

rpete - 9/15/2010 20:46 The crop progress report stated that 11% of the corn has been harvested. We all agree the season is 10 to 14 days ahead which brought comments today on ag markets that parts of the Eastern corn belt may be close to completed by month end. Weather was not much of a topic of dicussion this past summer in regards to market movement. Here in central Minnesota we are starting harvest with more consistence rainfall than last. Higher soil moisture levels. Just wondering how this stream of moisture is or will be affecting your harvest as it moves to the western and northern corn belt and do you think the weather will become a new topic for the trade to digest? Will it have any influnence to keep prices moving higher? Another 2" this afternoon in 1 1/2 hours and still raining. Just love tilling mud in the fall !!

Looks like a good investment would be a tow rope or chain company . . . Getting stuck will be part of the harvest . . . with that said, It's early and when this pattern changes harvesting will be completed quickly. Waiting for dryer ground works. I doubt the "board" will take notice - it doesn't matter, the crop will be harvested and contracts filled.
