Mississippi Delta | I think its gonna have to. Arkansas yields are down according to the people I have talked to, as well as the yields in MS. That coupled with the fact that cotton price is creeping up (may draw some long time cotton farmers back to cotton and away from rice) and $10+ soybeans and almost $5 corn............well, they are gonna have to buy some acres one day. I think the reason the price is so depressed now is the mills have all the rice they want right now. At most of the dryers in Arkansas, your rice has to be priced when you dump your truck, so there is an abundance of it right now.........no need to bid it up. My two cents. | |
