The body politic is trapped in a political swamp.. while health care costs are exploding.  Insurance companies are jacking premiums right now to get ready while the states are facing exploding costs associated with the new Health care law.

The states are going to be socked with extremely large budgetary gaps to cover new Medicare mandates found in this legislation with apparently no help from Uncle Sam.

In one letter, Georgia State Insurance Commissioner John Oxendine wrote, “I am concerned that the high risk pool program will ultimately become the financial responsibility of Georgians in the form of an unfunded mandate.” Virginia Gov. Robert F. McDonnell wrote that his state would not participate because the money allocated to fund the program in his state would be used up in just 22 months.

Next year 30 states are expected to face Medicare shortfalls.  New York alone estimates that the costs of implementing ObamaCare will add $ 1 Billion dollars to it's expenditures.

Some states are considering dropping out of Medicaid altogether..  California would save over $13 Billion the first year alone.

There are going to be a lot of tricky posturings at the state level to get ready for the implementation of this law..  Things that nobody saw coming.
