Do not sign a basis contract. The only reason to sign a basis contract is because you think basis will be getting worse in the future. You would be better off selling your entire crop at delivery and buying it back on paper . You will get the same rise in price both ways, only you will not be paying storage with the paper crop. JMHO. Find a way to capture basis if you want more for your crop. Will they not agree to a regular storage contract?
