Kittitas Co. Wa. State

Had an Alpaca once. Great animal, their wool spun into fiber is about the warmest stuff in the world to make clothing out of. Learned how to trim her hooves, was easy.  Well after she decided she was not going to win the no hoof trimming contest.

They are just about bullet proof they eat and thrive on weeds. She would eat ever kochia plant right down to the dirt like they were candy.  She finally died of old age.  Very sweet disposition but would kick the snot out of any dog and she wasn't afraid of coyotes either, kick them silly with 1/2 a chance.

I had her for 10+ years, did have to have her teeth floated a couple of times. Alpaca's teeth are designed to grow as naturally they eat everything right at "dirt level".  So, if they are fed say,, hay in a manger,, they don't get the chance to keep their teeth worn down.

Spinner's went nutz over the change to get alpaca wool.

Great looking alpaca's btw !!
