Subject: could it be?

WNW Illinois, Henry Co
I don't know for sure, but maybe the so called reasoning would be the "trader" can deliver a large amount of bushels to a destination in a very short time period commitment. i.e. the customer needs 50K bushels delivered to ?? in a very distinct timeframe to load a barge, boat or train in our area. a single supplier (farmer) usally cannot fulfill those needs. He says for that critieria, he must take a certain risk that HE can do it when needed. He probably cannot buy all the bushels to fulfill the contract at one time but his buyer will only deal in FULL loads of whatever product it is.

I like eliminating the middle man as much as possible, but unless I can handle the other side of the equation, I look for my best price doing what I can.

Kind of rambling here but hope you get my drift. I am certainly not one of those buyers. thank goodness, farming in Vegas fashion is common now-a-days and enough to keep track of.
