Subject: RE: MO revenue

Mascoutah, Illinois
I can remember when Missouri sent refunds in the mail each year because of the enormous surplus they had. I keep hearing how we need to spend more and more money on education. What I would like to know is how much money do we spend per student on average per year? Is the number greater than it was twenty years ago after adjusting the number for inflation? The quality of eduction continues to decline for a host of reasons. What scares me is interviewing people for work with a college degree who cannot spell, have poor grammer skills, cannot speak proper english, or do simple math. Our automation has made us lazy as a nation and our ignorance level continues to grow as a result.

I laugh at the new slang which has been developed via text messaging. People looking for work fill out the applications at the business I work for spelling words just like they are texted. It is funny at first, but the more you think about it the laughter goes away.
