SW IN | That's fine, I guess, but it sure would make it hard to get any work done if I was constantly moving away from a bull in my work area. I would just as soon the bull knows his place in the pecking order. Generally a bull learns pretty quickly that he should stay a few feet away pretty quickly after being corrected a couple of times. It is pretty much impossible to hurt a bull with a plastic bucket, but it makes a noisy thump, and seems to get the point across. I don't see that that "instills fear" in them so much as it enforces the idea that there is an area that it is forbidden to intrude on.
I once saw a neighbor's bull that had always been gentle go nuts when it came time to put him on the truck for his final ride. Don't get the idea that a gentle bull won't ever hurt you.
Most bulls live out their lives and never offer to hurt anyone. EVERY bull is capable of doing so. It only takes one.
