Subject: RE: Durana clover?

Oklahoma
I bought a bag last fall to try out in a about a 5 acre trap of bermudagrass that we also have young pecan trees also growing in. The soil there is a very tight clay, we just broadcast it over the bermuda like we had previously done with arrowleaf and vetch. We didn't get a rain for a while, and we were not happy with our stand of the durano. We did get some to come up and it looked really good where it came up but I am not betting the farm on it yet. Our goal is to try it again this year on the same field and possibly another small field. This time we will have the orchard mowed for harvest when we plant it and will probably use a drag of somekind to get better seed/soil contact rather than relying on rain and grazing to get that action. I think a combination of the seed/soil contact and lack of rain is why we weren't happy.
