| I would like to get a backyard fence put up at my house in the next couple of weeks, but I have some questions.
When I went to Lowes they had "cedar" pickets and "treated" pickets for fencing. The guy at lowes said that both of these picket types were treated with something so that they don't rot or dis-color, but he seemed a little unsure about the information he was giving me. Is he right or wrong? Any suggestions on which one I should get? Even if the wood is pre-treated what is the time frame until it has to be treated again? (I am in east central Illinois)
I am willing to spend extra money on this project because I really want a wood fence and I want it to be treated so that it looks good for a long time.
Any other suggestions on fence post digging, concrete work, fence leveling, etc. would be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance
