ECIL | I don't know how it works in Iowa, but wouldn't that be comparable to selling privately but using the broker's listing services? At time of sale, the broker gets a cut, she gets her commission, and the buyer's agent gets paid too unless the buyer has no agent or she serves as a dual agent. Dual agency is a touchy subject and must meet several guidelines of disclosure and representation. If the seller is serving as a dual agent that must be disclosed up front before anything else. I haven't personally heard of it being done before but I have seen properties sold where the seller was a realtor. And where the buyer is a realtor. It should be disclosed on the sale sign and any advertisement the property is agent owned. | |
